Popular Novel Recommendations

Hello!

I'm coming to you to recommend a popular title today. This is a book that has been circling heavily within the past year. It has recently become a movie as well.  This title is extremely heartwarming, suspenseful in some ways, and romantic. The book and movie adaption is titled Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. This book is on the number one bestsellers list and has just under five stars on Amazon.com. It has a very interesting storyline that I'm sure would pull in readers of all ages. The synopsis is below:

"Risk everything . . . for love.

What if you couldn’t touch anything in the outside world? Never breathe in the fresh air, feel the sun warm your face . . . or kiss the boy next door? In Everything, Everything, Maddy is a girl who’s literally allergic to the outside world, and Olly is the boy who moves in next door . . . and becomes the greatest risk she’s ever taken.

My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He's tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster."

As you can see the girl in this novel is very sick, so sick she cannot leave her home. Then she meets the boy next door and they go on an adventure that neither of them can forget. It's an extremely riveting read and I recommend it. Through my link below you can save money on this title! Check it out:

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you give this book a try, and with that love it as much as I did!

A Magical Recommendation

Hello!

I'm back for my first ever product review! This one is an easy one to recommend. This is because this is one of my all time favorite book series. We're talking about the Harry Potter Series! This week Amazon has a box set of the Harry Potter books on sale for $52 when it is regularly over $80.

These books are incredible for all ages, and yes, they are generally geared toward younger students but I believe that anyone can read them and ultimately enjoy the story line. It's filled with ideas of love, death, friendship, and problem-solving. And while most of these concepts are taught early to younger people, it doesn't hurt for adults to get a refresher on these lessons. This is an awesome opportunity to read about the magical world of Harry Potter! Jump on in and give the series a try, you won't be disappointed!

Sincerely,

My Newest Book Obsession

Hello!

I'm here to talk to you about my newest book obsession which is the house of night series by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast. This series is something that I don't usually read, which is books about vampires. I HATE books about vampires. The biggest reason as to why? Twilight. Those books are incredibly predictable, boring, and so full of everything average readers look for that it makes me want to cut out the pages! I'd never do that to any other books, so this is a very serious claim. I know that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, so I didn't. Trust me, I've read Twilight, and it fell even below my already low standards for it. Anyway, what was my original topic about?

That's right! The house of night series. This series is about a modern day world exactly like ours, but where vampires are a part of the human society. They lived isolated, by their own choice, at schools that they teach their young "fledglings" how to become an adult vampire. Fledglings are marked by the goddess around the age of fourteen. The goddess, otherwise known as Nyx, is the night personified, the woman they worship along with the five elements that are connected to her. Fledglings are marked and go through a change that could kill them if they are not strong enough, which is why they must be taught and trained by an adult vampire at the schools they call "the house of night".

Now that I've given you a little bit of background information, the series itself focuses on one fledgling, in particular, Zoey Redbird. She is heavily gifted by Nyx, as she is the first ever vampire in history to be able to control the five elements know as air, fire, water, earth, and spirit. The plot follows the girl's journey through her years at the house of night, the struggle of friendship, and the fight between good and evil. If I had to give an age suggestion for these novels it would be 14 and up. There are ideas such as sexual attraction, death, and betrayal that aren't appropriate for young readers. I don't give an older age restriction because I believe it doesn't matter what age you are, everyone can read young adult fiction. Many of the people who write the genre are adults, so that should also tell you something.

All in all, I recommend this twelve novel series to anyone who is looking for a different less predictable take on vampires. The first few novels have some dialect that makes me sigh such as personal thoughts in parenthesis. The main character also refuses to swear and uses words such as "bullpoopie" which makes me cringe. But if you can get past that and really dive into the plot it's an awesome and entertaining read! Give it a try and let me know if you like it!

Sincerely,
Kaylin Peyerk
